Legendary star passed away today due to a heart attack

Keith Lewis, who played Curb Your Enthusiasm, died of a heart attack.

Fans, as well as co-star Larry David and Hollywood actress Bette Midler, paid tribute to Richard on social media on Wednesday.

Stand-up comedian who was loved by many died at the age of 76, according to Deadline.

After the fact, his publicist said it was because of a heart attack on Tuesday.

In the 1980s, Richard became a well-known comedian.

He became well known after appearing on late-night talk shows like The Howard Stern Show, The Tonight Show, and The Late Show With David Letterman.

On the hit HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm, the TV and movie star played a made-up version of himself. He even played the same character again for the 12th season with Larry David.

He has also been in the TV shows Anything But Love, Once Upon a Crime, The Elevator, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

HIS FIGHT WITH PARKINSON
Richard talked about his health on his X (formerly Twitter) account in April 2023.

“Three and a half years ago, I was in the middle of a tour and then I finally ended it with a show I said ‘You know, I’m at the top of my game, after 50 years almost I’m just gonna call it quits.’”

“Suddenly, crap hit the fan.” From one surgery to the next, I had four. I was shocked and couldn’t believe what I saw. Unfortunately, that was just the way life is, you know?”

“I’ve had surgery on my back, my shoulder, my hip, and one of my shoulders replaced.” There were times when I was only thinking about [physical therapy].”

“On top of all that, two years ago, I started walking a little stiffly, I was shuffling my feet and I went to a neurologist and they gave me a brain scan and I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.”

Luckily, he said, he caught the disease early enough that it would spread slowly, and he was taking the right medicines, so he was “cool.”

Afterward, he said that he was done with stand-up comedy and wanted to concentrate on writing and acting.

TRIBUTE TO LARRY DAVID
Wednesday, Larry paid tribute to her in a moving statement that HBO shared.

“I’ve known Richard like a brother my whole life. We were born three days apart in the same hospital,” he said. Unlike most people, he was both the funniest and nicest at the same time.

“But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”

“AN ICON IN COMEDY”
Friends and fans of Richard from Curb Your Enthusiasm took to social media to share their sadness and funny memories of him.

Bette tweeted, “Funny news: the great Richard Lewis has died.”

“He was very funny and will be missed by everyone.” As Albert Brooks put it, “the world needed him now more than ever.”

“Richard Lewis and Larry’s friendship was always one of the best parts of Curb. RIP,” one fan said.

“Forever Richard Lewis,” said someone else. “Rest in peace to a comedy icon.”

“Richard Lewis wasn’t just a comedian; he left everything on the table,” wrote a third. His openness was just charming. We had a good one go.
