Artist Bill Cobbs has died. He was 90 years old.
He was famous for his parts in The Bodyguard, Night at the Museum, and New Jack City.
“On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California,” wrote Bill’s brother Thomas G. Cobbs, who is also a pastor, on Facebook.
“Bill recently celebrated his 90th birthday with loved ones who he cares about deeply. He is a devoted partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather, and friend.”
“Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. This makes our family feel better.”
“We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”
TMZ says that the cause of Bill’s death is still unknown.
In honor of Bill’s birthday earlier this month, his niece Bethany Cobbs shared a cute picture of him with his family.
The star was really happy as he sat down in a soft brown chair.
“HE WAS IN EVERYTHING!”
Fans sent the actor’s family well wishes on X, which used to be Twitter.
“Never knew his name, he was in EVERYTHING, RIP,” someone wrote.
Someone else said, “Mr. Bill Cobbs was a gentleman, an absolute legend, and a man of great talent.” His mark will always be felt on TV, movies, and the stage. May he rest in peace and power forever.
“Thank you Mr. Bill Cobbs for following your dreams and sharing your gifts,” a third said.
A fourth person said, “What an amazing actor.”
“Bill Cobbs was in a lot of movies!” His voice was wonderful. Someone else wrote, “I’m going to miss him very much.”
BILL’S HISTORY
William Cobbs was born on June 16, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was in the US Air Force for eight years as a radar technician before he became an actor.
He ran away to New York when he was 36 to try to become an actor.
He was in a lot of plays while he was in the big city.
After that, his first role was in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three in 1974.
Walker, Texas Ranger, One Tree Hill, The Outer Limits, The Sopranos, Star Trek: Enterprise, CSI, Criminal Minds, The Drew Carey Show, and October Road are just a few of the TV shows he has worked on.
The Color of Money, That Thing You Do!, Sunshine State, The Ultimate Gift, and Oz the Great and Powerful are some of the movies he has directed.
In 2022, Caroltyn was his last movie, and in 2020, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was his last TV show.
Bill has been in more than 100 movies and TV shows over the course of his successful career.
